America's Stonehenge - The Oracle Chamber and Sacrifical Altar
These were certainly the parts of the site that made the biggest impression on me when I was a kid. The largest chamber on site is the so-called Oracle Chamber. It is possible to stand in the Oracle Chamber and see anyone who was standing by the altar stone. By calling out through a speaking tube, it is also possible to make it seem like your voice is emerging from the altar. It's kind of neat. The altar itself is quite exciting, with what appears to be a groove to let the blood flow off. Of course, I have also heard that the stone just happens to look exactly like a really old version of a cider press...but...hm...who knows? ;)
Entry to the Oracle Chamber

I stood in the doorway of the chamber and snapped this shot. It's really quite dark in there, but my flash makes it seem otherwise. The speaking tube is on the left. Straight ahead, there's an opening in the ceiling that apparently once had stone louvers that could open and close, maybe so that it could be used a a chimney. To the right, you can pass all the way through and emerge on the other side.
The Sacrificial Altar

Sacrificial Altar...or cider press?
Yog...Sothoth! Yog...Sothoth!
