826 Boston - Introduction

This trip didn't directly relate to Lovecraft's work, but since it combines weird creatures and writing, it seemed like a fine subject for our site.

From their website: "826 Boston is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.

Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention, and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.

We'd recently visited the extremely enjoyable 826NYC, otherwise known as the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Store. While we were there, the staff asked us where we were from. When we said we were from Boston, they wondered if we'd been to the Boston store, one of the newest ones. No, we replied. What's the theme there? Cryptozoology, came the reply. We all blinked, then chuckled. Kind of perfect.

So on a cool but bright January day, we (myself, BloopWatch Founder Andrew "Aethan" French, as well as BloopWatch Correspondents Steve "iyu" Domanski and Jay "Teko" Nungesser) piled into the new blue BloopMobile and drove out for an expedition that ran the gamut from comic books, to exotic cheeses, to chicken and waffles, and, yes, to Bigfoot.
